Fictional hospitality concept created by RK Hospitality Studio

The Willowmere story

Country character with a more personal approach

A fictional independent hotel shaped around thoughtful hospitality, clear guest information and a quieter way to stay.

The red-brick exterior of Willowmere House

A restored country house

A place with history, made easier to experience

Willowmere House is imagined as a small independent hotel occupying a restored Georgian country property in rural Kent.

The building retains its traditional proportions, garden setting and individual character while presenting the stay in a clear and modern way.

Guests can understand the rooms, practical arrangements and local area before arrival, while still receiving the personal attention associated with an independently operated hotel.

The imagined history

From private residence to country retreat

1892

The original house

Willowmere House is imagined as having been built in the late nineteenth century as a rural family residence surrounded by working farmland and formal gardens.

1958

A place for guests

Following several changes of ownership, the property began welcoming visitors through private functions, countryside retreats and small local celebrations.

2006

Restoration and renewal

A careful restoration preserved the sash windows, fireplaces, original room proportions and garden views while introducing modern guest facilities.

Today

An independent country hotel

Willowmere House now represents a smaller, more personal hospitality experience centred on character, comfort and clear communication.

How we approach hospitality

Small details shape the whole stay

Willowmere House is built around a few practical principles rather than unnecessary complexity.

01

Clear before arrival

Guests should be able to understand rooms, access, parking, breakfast and arrival arrangements before making a reservation.

02

Personal without pressure

Direct communication should feel helpful and attentive rather than complicated or overly formal.

03

Character with comfort

Traditional architecture and individual interiors should never come at the expense of practical guest needs.

04

Connected to the area

A country hotel should help guests experience its surroundings, local businesses and landscape more confidently.

Spaces designed to settle into

Comfort beyond the bedroom

The shared areas are intended to feel calm, welcoming and genuinely useful throughout the day.

Guests can read in the lounge, enjoy coffee beside the fireplace or return from exploring Kent to a quieter place before dinner.
